While everyone is talking about Didi’s historic battle in the Supreme Court, I want to draw attention to what is happening on the industrial, agriculture and infrastructure front because the hostile media, Sanghis and self flagellating Bongs will never acknowledge anything good about Bengal.

Didi inherited a debt strapped state with crumbling infrastructure with high levels of poverty. The challenge lay in reviving industry but she chose to first revive what would help the majority : Agriculture and MSME.

Do note that Capex has risen steadily in absolute terms over the last decade and a half from a measly 2% of total expenditure in 2010-11 to 19% now.

India’s Drive to Eliminate City Dumpsites

The budget estimate for 2025-26 shows a dramatic jump in capex from Rs 35,865/- in 2024- 25 to Rs 72,818 (estimated BE) in 2025-26, signaling renewed infrastructure focus.

Was this the right path? To me it looks like the Genius Path taken by a person with an ear to the ground as it has led to a steady industrial revival too. I will post on that soon. For now see the charts to know more.
