Kolkata:  As a part of the build-up to the Bharat Electricity Summit 2026, a Stakeholders’ Engagement & Roadshow was organised in Kolkata today, bringing together senior officials from the power sector, industry leaders and key stakeholders to deliberate on India’s evolving electricity ecosystem and future-ready reforms. The engagement outlined the vision and objectives of the Bharat Electricity Summit 2026, scheduled to be held from March 19–22, 2026 at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, New Delhi, under the patronage of the Government of India, Ministry of Power. The Summit is being coordinated by EEPC India with the joint support of POWERGRID (nodal), NTPC, PFC, REC and NHPC.

The stakeholders’ engagement was led by Shri B.D. Agarwal, Regional Chairman, EEPC India (ER), Dr. Rajat Srivastava, Additional Executive Director, EEPC India, Adish Kumar Gupta, Executive Director, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, Mr. S Nandan, General Manager, USSC, Mr. Ashish Kumar Jha, DGM(E) NHPC, and Shri D. K. Singh, DVC. Addressing the gathering, the speakers stated that the Summit would play a defining role in reimagining India’s power sector roadmap in alignment with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. They noted that India, as one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing electricity markets, requires continuous dialogue among policymakers, utilities, technology providers and industry to ensure sustainable and inclusive growth.

During the presentations, the speakers highlighted that the Bharat Electricity Summit would serve as a platform for exchanging ideas, sharing best practices and fostering collaboration across the electricity value chain, including generation, transmission, distribution, storage and smart consumption. The Kolkata roadshow was described as an important step in incorporating regional perspectives into national and global deliberations.

Representatives from West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) and Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) were also present, underscoring strong participation from the eastern region and reaffirming Kolkata’s role as a key stakeholder hub in the run-up to the Summit. The Bharat Electricity Summit 2026 is expected to host 50+ high-level conference sessions, over 300 speakers, 1,000 delegates, 500+ exhibitors and more than 25,000 visitors, positioning it as one of the largest electricity-focused platforms globally and a milestone in India’s clean energy and sustainability journey.
